Advancing Privacy Compliance in Information Management
A global leader in information management and storage services has partnered with PCL, a consultancy renowned for its expertise in privacy and data protection compliance. This collaboration is focused on supporting their Global Data Residency Strategic Plan (GDR) and improving their privacy practices.
The GDR initiative aims to determine optimal locations for regional support hubs to host and process both the company's and customers' data while addressing legal and compliance risks. Using the innovative Horizon platform, PCL has deployed targeted surveys to gather relevant information and developed a user-friendly dashboard. This dashboard acts as a central repository for data, aiding in streamlining decision-making processes for sales and business operations.
Additionally, PCL has conducted an accountability assessment for the company to evaluate its current privacy practices, identify gaps and areas for improvement, and provide a roadmap for achieving higher maturity in data privacy compliance. This has led to the development and implementation of the Global Privacy Program (GPP). The GPP is designed to strengthen the company's role as a trusted custodian of digital data, ensuring compliance with all applicable privacy and data protection regulations and harmonizing its privacy practices.
The program covers essential areas such as privacy by design, data breach management, data subject rights, and training and awareness. Furthermore, the Horizon platform's capabilities to track privacy risks and KPIs enable the company to monitor its privacy risk management efforts and report on GPP progress effectively.
Through leveraging PCL’s expertise and advanced solutions, the company has significantly advanced its commitment to privacy compliance, enhancing its privacy practices and reinforcing its position as a trusted leader in the information management sector.
